It's interesting that you have this problem, but not many others don't. There could be many reasons for this, but here are some I can think of:

1) How strong is your immune system? How healthy is your diet? The thing about unprotected anal sex is that the anus is full of bacteria. Bacteria gets into your body (through your penis) and starts to infect whatever part of the body that specific bacteria infects. If your immune system is strong, it will fight off the bacteria quickly, but if your diet is unhealthy and you don't get enough exercise (or you just have an unfortunately low immune system) then the infection could take a while to control. The thing about bacteria is that some types of it can never be destroyed - your body's immune system can stop its activities, and then the bacteria forms a protective coat and becomes a spore. When your immune system is compromised, this spore can "spring back to life".

You need over 500 to be healthy. You are a very healthy person if you have around 1200. Go ask if there's a test to determine the strength of your immune system and I would also recommend that you and your partner are both tested for any dormant bacteria that you should know about.

No one can force you to do anything, but I strongly recommend you have the "top" partner use a condom AND lubricant. Without lubricant, the penis and/or condom can still make tiny, microscopic lacerations of the anus lining (that's how the bacteria and/or viruses gets into you) and it damages his/your body.
