Do you know any bad-*** ninja / Japanese quotes?
I'm giving some samurai swords to someone as a gift. I wanted to give them a card with some badass ninja / Japanese quote on it. Either that or something from Raphael in TMNT.

Any suggestions?
Here are some Japanese proverbs I like:

継続は力なり。 (Keizoku wa chikara nari.) It means: "Continuance is strength."

能ある鷹は爪を隠す。 (Nou aru taka wa tsume wo kakusu.) It means: "The talented hawk hides its claws", which is symbolic for meaning that a wise man will keep some of his talents in reserve.

Here's my personal favorite:
鳶が鷹を産む。 (Tobi ga taka wo umu.) It means: "A kite gives birth to a hawk", which is symbolic of meaning no matter who are you can aspire to greatness.

I watched them in highschool during my Japanese language classes...and if i'm not mistaken they were shown on Georgia public broadcasting quite a few years ago. They had a weird *** japanese guy.......and they were quite entertaining. I am trying to remember if they were called Irisshai or something like this, but I cannot remember. Japanese verbsssssssssssssssssssssssss 20character limit my ***?
so i have read there are three groups of japanese verbs. and each individual verb has many different forms, such as present indicative, plain, polite, imperative, presumptive, etc etc.

if i were to learn the three verb groups, would i be able to use that knowledge to change the verb forms without memorizing each individual word and all of the verbs forms individually?

or could i use the knowledge of the three verb groups to change any new verbs i learn into different forms?

thanks
The three "groups" you refer to are "ru" (ichidan), "u" (godan/yodan) and irregular verbs (essentially just the verbs "suru" and "kuru"). However, there are verbs whose dictionary form end in "ru" but are actually "u" verbs. Sadly, there is no real way to distinguish them outside of just memorization.

With the exception of those "ru" verbs that follow "u" verb conjugation rules and the irregular ones, the verbs tend to follow generally standard conjugation rules and learning how they conjugate in each form will help you a great deal when bouncing from one verb form to another.

This website explains the conjugation of verbs a lot better than I can. Give it a look. www.timwerx.net/language/jpverbs/…
