I have oily skin, which soap should I use in the shower/on my face?
I had oily skin as a teen and now all of a sudden at age 23 it has returned to me. This isn't the main question but does anyone know why that could happen if I haven't made any big lifestyle changes and my diet hasnt changed? But my main question is what soap should I buy to use in the shower/to wash my face that will combat my oily skin and keep it shine-free and what not?
i think better choice will be dove or jhomson baby soap. They contains less amount of base and chemicals which is beneficial to your skin. Do best with your skin.
Teen acne for years and isn't getting better?
All throughout high school, its been almost 4 years as I am a senior now and still have acne everyday. Practically always having acne grown more each day after its gone away, not a day I remember had I had clear skin. It's bringing down my confidence so much and I do have friends, but at times I am afraid to look them in the face because of my own acne. I wash my face twice a day, morning and night. Use the exfoliate also three times a week & also mosturizer after I shower in the morning to go to school. (Without it my skin has flakes and is dry) (Yet I always have an oily nose)

Please help with any advice. I eat healthy such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, barely any junk food (mainly whole wheat bread). I use Clean and Clear face cleanser and exfoliate, and Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. I don't understand. I've asked my mom to buy me different kinds that my friends recommend me once I run out but I just keep gaining more acne!!! At times I have so many pimples I just end up popping them because there's just too many! Please! Can anyone give me some advice! I am 17 and suffered practically 4 years of acne and it's really depressing me. (Mainly on forehead and chin) (I wash my hair each morning with shampoo + conditioner Garnier F. and I also have side bangs)

Should I not wash my hair with conditioner everyday? I want to shower because I work after school though.. I put my side bangs up when I come home from school too to give it some air. Please help!
Thank you so much for those whom give sincere advice!
Hello, Acne sucks doesn't it? I've had it since I was 10 but it's mostly gone now so I'll just tell you how I got rid of mine :)
Make sure you get skin products that are specifically made for acne prone skin. For me, moisturiser always made my nose more oily than before so I didn't like to use it but then I discovered this moisturiser called vanishing cream: www.lushusa.com/shop/products/face/moisturisers/vanishing-cream
It's very expensive, but good, I promise. A little goes a long way.

Next, maybe try a different cleanser. I like the Body Shop ones: www.thebodyshop.com/_en/_ww/catalog/list.aspx?CategoryCode=C_SkinCare_Cleansers&ParentCatCode=C_SkinCare
I use the seaweed one but that's because my skin is really oily. Maybe the tea tree would be better for you because that specifically targets blemishes. Also, get the toner to match whichever cleanser you choose. It's all about getting skin products that are right for your skin.
I change my cleanser often & always find it useful to go into shops like Lush & Body Shop because you can describe your skin type to the shop assitants and they'll show you the best products for it.
This is also quite good: www.lushusa.com/shop/products/face/cleansers/grease-lightning

Also, drink a lot of water and a lot of green tea (green tea is good as it's full of antioxidants).
I also went to my GP Doctor lady and she mentioned something called accutane. It's prescribed usually for severe acne and is supposed to work for something like 80% of people who use it. I never used it but if your spots really bother you it might be worth it.

There's no reason at all why you shouldn't use conditioner in your hair everyday, that's fine. Oh, and DON'T POP THEM! I know how hard it is not to, believe me, I've been there, but they are more likely to scar if you pop them, it's not a good idea.

Don't exfoliate everyday because it gets rid of good natural nutrients or something if you do it too often. Once or twice a week maybe.

Lastly, there are some natural remedies like diluted (with water) lemon juice for cleanser and rose water face wash. You can make these yourself, just stick rose water for acne or lemon juice for acne into google and research how to make it. I've never used these for everyday cleansers, just for one off's when I feel like it cause variation in remedies has always helped my skin.

I know it's a long post but I know how bad it can feel to have acne & just want to help as best as I can. I used to not be able to look at people when I spoke to them cause I always felt that they were looking at my spots rather than my face and I hated it. But just remember that although spots are annoying & don't look great they don't make you unattractive. Try not to concentrate on your acne when you look in the mirror, but concentrate on your good points.

Hope I helped :D
Young teen girls 'experimenting' question... (please read details)?
Hi, me and two of my friends go to an all girl's school. Im 13 and so is my friend (lets call her Zoe-btw thats a fake name) and one is very close to turning 13 (lets call her the fake name of Janet). None of us have had boyfriends-in fact practically no one in our grade has.

Well, this year at camp a little 'game' started up in the cabin at night when we were meant to be sleeping. We started to do 'fake stage kisses' with pressed lips and hands covering lips etc... then that turned into 'fake making out'. Everyone had a bit of fun with that but all agreed that Zoe and Janet did it really well together-and it didnt look fake at all. Later we decided that we would do real closed mouth kisses on the lips (which sounds pewny but was a big deal at the time). Zoe and Janet got into that as well, and incorporated it into their skits.

Just for background info-Janet had been part of my main 'group' of friends for ever really, but although everyone always liked Zoe as a girl in another group, she very recently had joined our group because of rumours that had started from her old friends.

Anyway, the next morning (and day) me Zoe and Janet had a lot of free time and just walked around talking about the previous night. We said that we felt a bit tingly and stuff and giggled. It wasnt really awkward talking about it, but we didnt really talk about it with the other girls who were in the cabin.

After camp, i was talking to Janet (the one i had been friends with for ages) and she told me that she had gone to the bathrooms with Zoe when we got back to school and they made out with open mouths.

Since then there were a few more occasions when they did things and Janet told me about them but Zoe (the new(ish) friend) didnt. They progressed to toungs and feeling eachothers hair etc.

Then they went to Janets farm house on holidays and later Janet told me that they showed eachother themselves naked and were walking around naked when the parents were out. Janet said they were comfortable and it wasnt awkward. (their bodies are quite simular).

Yesterday, a few months after the camp, Zoe and I went to Janet's house and up to her attic. We were talking about how it was all a bit weird and Zoe, thinking i didnt know, told me (with the help of Janet) about the toungs thing and also how at the farm house they had a shower together. They wanted to sit with intertwined legs so i said sure, go ahead. One thing led to another and they wanted to try making out again, so they held up a pillow (cause they were embarrased kind of) and made out for about a minute.

It was a bit awkward but no big deal for me-i honestly dont really care and thats what i told them. After Zoe had to leave, i had dinner with Janet. I asked her about the shower thing and she told me that not only had they been naked, but they also made out and they 'tickled' eachother 'down there'. Zoe doenst know that i know that.

OKAY, so, just to let you know, NONE OF US ARE GAY. That is pretty much certain. they like doing that for the physical pleasure they get.

So, i was wondering firstly, is that normal? And, secondly, how would you act if you were me? Is there anything you would be feeling or thinking? Any sort of tips? I kinda think that its hot, but im not sure if that is good or not.
its totally normal to want to feel other girls hair..or sit naked with intertwined legs..
Teen slipped on cigarette quit and is ashamed?
Hey guys. My name is Davey and I'm a 19 year old guy. I picked up the bad habit of smoking at 12 years old, and smoked until I turned 19 (a little over 7 years) on January 21, 2010 I smoked a cigarette, put it out and promised that this last cigarette was the last one I'd ever smoke. I never slipped up once. Today would be around 11 months (give or take) that I'd quit. This morning after waking up I bummed a cigarette for no reason and smoked it. Soon after that, I'd went out and bought a pack which I've smoked half of. Just to say now, there was NOT peer pressure. This is something I've pondered doing for awhile. If you're a smoker who's quit before, you'll know what I mean by when you haven't smoked in months (even years) that such time goes by you forget what a cigarette even tastes like, even though you KNOW it's disgusting. I've wondered for awhile what this "forbidden fruit" still tastes like, and I jumped in. I didn't smoke it because it was a craving, I just smoked that first one because I wanted to, and I'm still not sure why. My whole family had been so proud of me because of my quit, my mom especially since she quit also and didn't want me following down the same road. I feel like I let my family down BIG TIME. I just got out of the shower a few minutes ago and sat there and tears filled my eyes knowing I made a mistake, I feel as if I'm a waste because I let these people down (even though I most likely won't ever speak of it to them). I don't know why I would flush 11 months of quit time down the drain for a day of cigarettes, it literally upsets me just typing this. I had become so anti-smoker I even stopped hanging around my smoker friends (which is almost all) and I hated it. I just don't know what to do about this. I've read that you should never let one slip up result in a failed quit, but I was so excited about achieving my first year smoke free I am ashamed of myself, ashamed. Where do I go from here? Should I be ashamed of myself? Thanks guys..
Don't feel bad... I impulsively started again after 7 years (DOH!), smoked for 10 and quit again late last year. Someone told me they'd heard it takes an average of 16 tries to quit. It's a real biyotch of an addiction. Don't horsewhip yourself for being human. You can try again.
Teen ashamed of himself due to smoking relapse?

First off, congratulations on quitting. That's a feat in itself. Sure, it sucks to feel like you've taken a step back after all that time you put in to quitting. But...you made a mistake. That's OK. Forgive yourself. There is no need to be ashamed. It only shows that you're a human. You went a year without smoking, and you got curious about what it was like before. That's a normal human thing. You had one day of cigarettes. Be proud for what you accomplished.

Where should you go from here? Wherever you were going before you bought that last pack of cigarettes. You were on a path, you veered off it for a second, and now you get back on.
Can unfiltered shower water cause acne?
Well About almost 2 years ago i had typical teen acne not bad but id get pimples, i cleared it up thanks to my mom's advice on witch hazel and neutrogena fragrance free soap . After that my face was clear for a year and a half , Around 9 months ago the filtered water machine in our house hasn't been changed so we can't drink the sink water or anything anymore until we get it cleaned, and i been getting bumps inside my skin ever since then! you think it could be a reason for these inside bumps?!
No, unfiltered water does not cause acne. But the bumps you have may not be acne. So your bumps may be caused by the water. No way to know until you know what the bumps are. See your doctor or dermatologist.
Dress suggestions for teen?
I need some dress suggestions for semi-formal events this fall/winter. I'm a high school senior. I rarely wear dresses, although I sort of would like to if I find some that I'm comfortable with!

I'm fairly average height/weight... yeah could tone up my tummy a little :) I'm like somewhere between A and B cup size, so not too much there! But given the right style of top I'm not 'flat' chested. I would like to avoid strapless, unless if there is something that I otherwise love...

I'm into alternative clothing (quite fancy some corset style dresses) but feel free to suggest anything. Color depends so much on the cut, but I generally like darker shades.... no bright or all-pink dresses. Nothing with too much glitter/sparkle (but some is fine).

ALSO -huge- my hair is a pixie cut. As I was trying on a few dresses they look ridiculous with a pixie cut. Granted this was a "bleh Sat take a shower and throw on some clothes" so I wasn't in the mood for dress shopping anyway. But just keep that in mind. :)

If you have any specific suggestions that'd be great (even if can't find the same dress it gives me ideas) or if you have a brand that I should check out that would be amazing. Just trying to get some ideas, thank you!
Got to forever21.com they have really cute dresses. Here are a few but check out the web site they have a lot of cute dresses, shoes, jewelery, etc.

Help! I am only a teen and hair is falling out!?
I am only 16 (17 in a couple months) and my hair is falling out. Its been doing this since I was 12ish, maybe 13. It seems to only fall out in the shower but I do pick a few hairs, during the day, off of myself and both the table and computer. Yes I dye my hair but the hair dye isn't the problem because even my natural hair (before I started dyeing my hair) fell out. I also use a gentle hair dye plus my scalp does not get irritated when I dye it. I have done everything suggested on the web, gone to the doctor, bought products at Sally's recommended by the employees, let my hair dry instead of blow drying it, taking vitamins, switching to wide tooth combs, not using hair styling products (gel, mouse, hairspray, etc.), and switching to sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I've even tried dying my hair less often. When I went to the doctor they did blood tests and said I was low on vitamin D and other than that I was completely normal and healthy. They said to take 2000 units of vitamin D once a day. They examined my scalp and said I wasn't having any reaction to hair dye but couldn't find anything wrong. I only have parkland medicaid insurance and don't have any other doctors in my area that will except it. My own doctor doesn't even except it anymore so I can't be seen for anything at all by him. What do I do!? Thank you for the help.
Hair loss is a very common problem among people. In most cases abnormal loosing of hair is a sign of health problems. What is abnormal loosing of hair? Do not panic if you loose from 50 to 100 hair per day – this is normal. If you clearly lose more or you see hairless spots on your head – see your doctor.

So 50-100 strands of hair loss is totally normal and in limits, but if you still want to have stronger hair against hair loss, i advice you to check the following web page, where you can find recent best 10 shampoos that help you to recover from your hair loss problem and they are really great. The page ALSO has information about the possible reasons of hair loss.

www.iknowhair.com/hair-loss-shamp…

I advice you to give Nioxin a try. In the web page above you will also find some other information than just shampoos, such as how to prevent hair loss and what are the common reasons of it..

Also i advice you to check the Bosley company, you will see their link in the web page above, where you can get free consultation with Bosley Medical physician, they are hair loss experts and one of the best world wide and the consults are totally free of charge and you will get the correct information without spending a dime and then decide your next step.

How to tell my friend I don't want the baby shower after she's already arranged it?
My friend has arranged a baby shower without asking me for next weekend. I never wanted one. I don't like making a fuss over things and I can certainly do without people watching me, eating around me and being surrounded by food. I was anorexic when I was in my teens and it still affects me today, specially when things get on top of me.
My friend has arranged the whole shower and informed me about it through text which read:

You free next weekend? Well if you aren't cancel it, you're having a baby shower next saturday. Will text you where and when later in the week. Hope you don't mind.

I do mind, I never wanted on in the first place. As for cancelling my plans next weekend I'm meant to be going to down to Devon with my husband to lay some flowers on his dad's grave and I can't turn around and say I can't go. I just don't know what to do.
You should be flattered that your friend loves you and your expected baby enough to gather friends and family together to shower you with gifts. This is what people do when someone is having a baby, and it should be expected. So people make a fuss over you. Think of the goodies you are going to get for that baby--stuff you wouldn't think to get for yourself, and it will give you time to enjoy being with your friends. Had you not wanted a shower, you should have voiced that loud and clear at the beginning of your pregnancy.
